Special Meeting Called After Homer Glen Trustee Charged With Battery

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen will hold a special meeting on Tuesday to discuss an incident which took place Friday at Village Hall, and the discussion and possible action to determine whether the incident carries any consequences.

When asked about the incident, Reynders told Patch her attorney had advised her not to comment.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Village Hall, 14240 W. 151st St., on July 29. Deputies spoke with the victim, who said she was an employee of the Village and was in the office of another Village employee having a meeting, when Reynders came into the office and began a “verbal altercation,” a report from the sheriff’s office states.

Reynders then ripped up a Village Hall business card and threw it into the face of the victim, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies contacted Reynders and interviewed her in the 14000 block of South Bell Road in Homer Glen, the sheriff’s office said.

“Reynders’ statements were mostly consistent with the victims’ statement regarding what took place between the two at the village hall,” the sheriff’s office said.

Reynders was charged with battery and posted 10 percent of her $1,500 bond, the sheriff’s office said. Her next court date is Sept. 6.

Patch also reached out to Neitzke-Troike about the incident, but she had not responded at the time of posting.
